Fine Terms explained

#Koha IRC channel to the rescue again:

Sharon: question – what does FU mean in the fines table?
pianohacker: Updated Overdue Fine
pianohacker: That is, one that has been increased since it was first added to the patron’s account
Sharon: so an automatically updated fine – sort of koha generated or koha advanced
pianohacker: Kind of. Overdue fines are automatically generated anyway
pianohacker: When they’re first added, they’re F; if they’re incremented, they become FU
Sharon: thank you

Liz found some actual documentation:

Fine/Fee types:

  • C = credit
  • FOR =forgiven
  • W = writeoff
  • F = overdue fine
  • FU = overdue, still acccruing
  • PAY = payment
  • A = acc’t management fee
  • M = Sundry
  • L = Lost Item
  • N = New Card

HELP! Our Item Types are Missing!

UPDATE:  As of today only 127 items are missing item types – WAY TO GO!!!  That’s awesome.   I hope this will fix the statistical reports.  Feel free to run the report yourself after a cataloging session to double check your work.  It’s the 2nd report listed “NULL Item Type report for all libraries” – just RUN it.

Hello,

We have a theory that missing or NULL item types in the catalog are messing up the statistical reports.  There are only 274 items that DO NOT have an item type associated with them.  Please look at this Excel Spreadsheet report and edit or delete those records that belong to you.

Thank you for helping us keep NExpress tidy ;-)
